Dubai Fishing Competition

2018 will see the first ever Dubai Fishing Competition, which is set to take place at the Dubai International Marine Club on 16 February 2018. .

Located in a prime spot in Dubai Marina next to Le Meridien Mina Seyahi, Dubai International Marine Club currently boasts a 300-berth marina, helipad, sailing school, race department, offices and venue facilities. Apart from the prime location and easy access to the ocean, DIMC offers other facilities to its marina members and guests alike. These include craning facilities, re-fuelling services, a slipway, and a splendid wet and dry berthing area for 350 vessels (ranging from 25 feet to 160 feet). The marina also has a sports jetty for visiting vessels of up to 160 feet.

The club hosts many events throughout the year including the Dubai international boat show. DIMC also host the well known traditional sailing race ‘Al Gaffal’ – a long distance 60ft dhow race which runs from Sir Bu Na’air Island and has been going for over 20 years. The first ever Dubai Fishing Competition is also set to take place at the Dubai International Marine Club on 16 February 2018.

Even though it’s a sport for all age groups, its hardcore practitioners belong to the age group of 30 to 50. The harsh sun and choppy waters have hardly been a deterrent. With bigger fishes in the water, the Dubai International Marine Club is expecting a large turnout of anglers of all ages and abilities.
