The Fridge Concert Series: Sadiq Jaafar

Back to its home stage at Alserkal Avenue, filling the vibrant arts district with eclectic sounds, Fridge concert series invites rising local artists to demonstrate their inventive take on traditional sounds.

There is more this season with upbeat rock covers, stylish Latin fusion and contemporary jazz compositions.

Revered as one of the region’s finest Oud virtuosos, Iraqi musician Sadiq Jaafar is back at the Concert Series celebrating the best of his Top 10 selling debut album, Arabian Nights, and his follow-up album, Oud Vibes.

Jaafar has performed alongside many of the Arab world’s most famous traditional artists, bringing his own touch to the tempo. An alumnus of the esteemed Baghdad College of Fine Arts, Jaafar has attracted great renown as a solo oud specialist.

Jaafar’s original compositions are experimental and modern, blending elements of jazz and flamenco with the delicate melodies of the oud, for a sound that transcends geographies.
