​Nouvelle Vague at Dubai Opera

The magnificent Parisian new wave band Nouvelle Vague has added Dubai as a stop on their 15th anniversary world tour, for one performance on the Tuesday 25 June 2019.

Bringing their unique concept to global stages, this critically-acclaimed group starring Marc Collin, Olivier Libaux, Camille and Melanie Pain reinterpret dreamy styles of 50s and 60s Bossa Nova in punk and new wave standards.

Not an ordinary cover band, Nouvelle Vague has established itself the master of a new musical concept inspired by the French New Wave cinema movement in the 1960s. The group is returning to its 2004 minimalist roots during this international unplugged tour. ‘Nouvelle Vague’ released their first album in 2004, with renditions of Punk and New Wave hits with lush arrangements and entrancing vocals.

After five studio albums and many extensive global tours, Nouvelle Vague became a global phenomenon. This year will also see the release of the documentary, Nouvelle Vague By Nouvelle Vague, which chronicles their rise. Nouvelle Vague is now celebrating their fifteenth anniversary with an international unplugged tour in 2019 keeping with the band’s original 2004 format.

An acoustic guitar, a few keyboards, a modicum of ambience, and two singers Melanie Pain and Elodie Frege performing the band’s iconic songs.
