Now eight seasons in – Emirates NBD Classics has distinguished itself in presenting enchanting evenings of Hindustani classical music, featuring the legends and Doyens of the Hindustani Classical Music industry.
The concert series invites icons preserving the distinct and varied art forms of the country to share their talents with local audiences. The latest act in their roster is the world-premiere of Ustad Shujaat Khan Collective. Sufi, ghazal and folk music will blend in this multi-instrumental live performance at Dubai Opera.
Trained in the Imdadkhani school of music, he has recorded over 60 albums and was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best World Music Album for his work with the band Ghazal with Iranian musician Kayhan Kalhor.
He will be accompanied by Azaan Khan on Acoustic guitar & Vocals, Anil Chawla on Keyboard, Aveleon Giles Vaz on Drums, Makrand Sanon and Sarthak Pahwa on Percussions and Danik Ghosh on Bass for the first time at Dubai Opera.
