Enjoy an evening of sensational musical performances by several gifted Palestinians, performing celebrated classics from Palestine and around the world, accompanied by the Edward Said National Conservatory Orchestra on Saturday 20 April 2019.

For the first time, the all-girls singing troupe Banat Al-Quds (Daughters of Jerusalem) will be joined by acclaimed soprano Zeina Barhoum in a heartfelt display of the country’s emerging talent that reflects the timelessness, versatility and importance of the holiest of cities.

The Palestine Youth Orchestra (PYO), created in 2004 by The Edward Said National Conservatory Music (ESNCM), had the vision of bringing together over 70 young Palestinian musicians in a world class orchestral ensemble, to deliver their message of inspiration and humanity to audiences worldwide.

The orchestra has performed in various countries in the Middle East and Europe, including Germany and France, promoting Palestinian and Arab composers such as Naji Hakim, Marcel Khalife and the Rahabani Brothers.

The “Banat Al-Quds” are 25 young Palestinian women from families with deep roots in Jerusalem. They have recently released their first album, featuring duets performed with the American Princeton Girls Choir and the Norwegian Girls Choir.

Zeina Barhoum is a classically trained Palestinian/Jordanian Soprano, who started her musical career in 1997. She received private vocal coaching with world renowned opera singers Alberta Valentini, Walter Alberti and Tina Ruta. Under the Royal Patronage of HRH Princess Muna Al Hussein, Zeina launched the first Opera festival in the Arab world, the Amman Opera Festival (AOF), with a full production of Verdi’s La Traviata at the 2000-year old Roman Amphitheatre in July 2017.

This event serves to promote Palestinian arts and young talent across a global platform. Attend this show to support rising artists as they share a message of inspiration and hope.
