The Baltic Sea Philharmonic and Sunbeam Productions are bringing Waterworks to Dubai Opera for one night only, on November 14. Through the musical score, lighting effects and projection art, the production aims to give guests a sensory tour of the Amazon River.
Conducted by Kristjan Jarvi, and with solo violin performances from Mikhail Somonyan, the show will take guests through the different forms of water, ranging from the powerful Amazonas in South America to the gentler springs in the North. It will also present Philip Glass’ Aguas da Amazonia.‘ An infinite connection between the bodies of water that define all our regions, as source of life, energy, and freedom.
The Baltic Sea Philharmonic is known to celebrate the links between society, culture and the environment, involving members of all ten countries that surround the Baltic Sea.
Beautifully blending visual and musical elements in the performance, Waterworks explores the different facets and faces of water around the world and its role as a source of life, energy and freedom.
