WASLA music festival is huge event for anyone with a passion for alternative Arabic music. Whether you attended or missed the first WASLA music festival and want to get a taste of contemporary Arabic music, you’ll get a fresh dose of catchy tunes at WASLA Summer Session this July. Celebrate the passion for alternative Arabic music with a heady night of afro-rock intertwined with oriental beats, experimental Arabic fusion, electronic rhythms and melodies.
The lineup for this edition includes Egyptian electro band Fulltone, UAE fusion band NOON, the North African shaabi/rock/electro group Speed Caravan and an undisclosed-as-of-yet DJ to keep the audience dancing late into the night. This event is a fusion of cultures, generations and musical talent. Their styles run the gamut from pop, electronica and Sufi to pure rock, but they have in common a rebellious streak — an existence outside the homogenous world of commercial Arabic music.
Traditional beats remixed in modern ways are sure to keep everybody on their feet dancing so wear comfortable shoes and book early for a reduced ticket price.
