The Merry Widow by Hungarian composer Franz Lehar is one of the most popular comic operettas in the repertoire, with elegance and colour of symphonic scale. Famous for his operettas, Franz Lehar has also written sonatas, poems and marches. In honour of his highly-regarded career, there is a street in Vienna in his name and several towns in the Netherlands also have streets named after him. In Dubai, it will be conducted by László Makláry, the Director of the Budapest Operetta and Musical Theatre.
