The Price of Everything is a documentary by Nathanial Kahn that explores a critical issue in the affairs of art and undauntedly confronts the dynamics and fairness of merit in it's sphere.
Investigating art and artistic passion in a capitalistic and consumer-centric society, this documentary unveils the contradictions rooted in modern values, times and art. It features a myriad of recognised artists, collectors, dealers and auctioneers including Jeff Koons, Gerhard Richter, Larry Poons and more.
The film exposes deep contradictions as it holds a mirror up to contemporary values and times, coaxing out the dynamics at play in pricing the priceless. The Price of Everything was nominated for the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival 2018. See it screened for two nights this March at Alserkal Avenue’s independent movie platform, Cinema Akil, to usher in Dubai’s dynamic art season.
