The Dubai Youth Film Festival is a first of its kind initiative that aims to encourage creativity and innovation in videography and the art of filmmaking in UAE. Catch screenings of jury-curated, student-directed films at the American School of Dubai on 4th May to support local arts and creators.
At DYFF, Dubai’s aspiring filmmakers will have a chance to showcase their work in an intellectually based youth conference that intends to unite talented and passionate individuals to hone and develop the skills necessary to effectively express ideas through modern digital media.
Submission categories include Documentary, Comedy, Independent and Mobile. The films submitted in the Mobile category need to be shot on mobile – and the winning entries will be displayed on mobile as well. The interesting format is called “Shot on Mobile – Shown on Mobile”. The festival is open to all schools in the UAE.
Top films from the selection are further shortlisted for recognition and awards. The event also invites guest speakers to share their passion and experiences to inspire emerging artists in the industry. Add to that live cooking stations and a range of surprises during this red carpet evening reminiscent of the Oscars.
Filmmakers: Think you’re up for it? Submit your best films to the four inclusive categories. There are amazing awards up for grabs so don’t miss this opportunity!
While this event is primarily for students, others and film enthusiasts are invited to experience and support local arts.
