The world’s tallest building, Dubai’s Burj Khalifa, lit up with a festive message on Saturday night: Eid Mubarak.
‘Eid Mubarak’ animations will also beam from the façade of the world’s tallest tower daily from 8pm on July 20-24.
Late on Friday night, the UAE’s moonsighting committee announced that the first day of Shawwal 1441 H, marking the beginning of Eid Al Fitr, would fall on Sunday.
The message was flashed in typical dramatic style by the impressive structure; the building stood a black canvas as the words appeared in a shower of pink.
Special Eid-themed LED shows will also be projected on the Burj Khalifa every 30 minutes from 7.45pm to 10.45pm.
The Burj Khalifa has been known to light up with supportive and festive messages since it’s inauguration in 2010, and this year when the world is reeling from the coronavirus pandemic, that message took on a special significance. Together, even when apart, Eid Mubarak to everyone.
