The 23rd season of Global Village is opened its doors to the public on October 30 under the theme ‘Explore, Experience, Enjoy. This Way!’
One of the most anticipated festivals of the year, it returned this season with 27 new pavilions representing 78 countries; it features exteriors reflecting landmarks from the world over. The multicultural festival park and the region’s first family destination for culture, shopping and entertainment will feature a newly-expanded Carnaval funfair area during the 159-day season, which will run until April 6, 2019.
Arabic singer Rabeh Sager is the first performer in January, part of a heavy-weight roll call of international performers planned during the festival's calendar. With over three decades in the industry, Rabeh Saqer has distinguished himself as one of the best singers in the Gulf region.
Prepare for a live run through of the biggest hits from his prolific career, including tracks like ‘Sahratna Al Laila’, ‘Bisoucat’ and ‘Sabrin’. Access to the show is part of your AED15 entrance ticket to the park, so be sure to take a break from exploring the treasure trove of exotic food, shopping and rides to catch an Arab icon in his element.
Other leading performers from around the world will also be performing on Fridays with a series of 23 concerts by artists such as Jason Derulo, Elissa, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Neha Kakkar, Mohammed Munir and more.
