Everyone LOVES it..... when a buzzing new entertainment destination marks its arrival by bringing an ultimate hottie to perform and enthrall the people here.
Clearly the Iglesias household has been saying some good things about Dubai, because following on from father-of-the-house Julio’s performance at Dubai Opera earlier this year; it’s time for the younger Iglesias, Enrique, to come to town.
Palm Jumeirah destination The Pointe has slowly begun welcoming visitors over the last few weeks, but what better way to say ‘we’re here’ than bringing an international heart throb to perform?
On Friday December 14, Latino legend Enirque Iglesias is the first megastar flying in to perform at The Pointe.
The Hero hitmaker will take to the custom built overwater stage at 9pm, although events will kick off from 4pm.
No stranger to the region, Iglesias last performed here at the Dubai Jazz Festival in 2017. He’s also previously performed in Abu Dhabi over the Grand Prix weekend and headlined his own concert in 2012 at Dubai World Trade Center.
With his backing band in tow, Iglesias’s shows are crowd pleasers with a euphoric set that moves easily between his English and Spanish hits. He is also known to invite the occasional fan on to the stage for a selfie, so if you are the lucky one chosen ensure your mobile phone is charged.
Iglesias's concert will be the first gig at the new The Pointe: located at the end of the Palm trunk and across the waters from Atlantis, the 136,000 square metre retail and entertainment complex will host more than 100 restaurants (some of which have opened), a cinema, a 1.5 kilometre promenade and a 12,000 square metre dancing fountain.
This will be a paradise for food connoisseurs with new dining concepts, gourmet cuisine establishments and popular fast-food outlets. Restaurants set to open in the district include the all-American menu of Chicago Meatpackers, a dine-in cinema by Guy Fieri, a high-end French restaurant by famous chef Mathieu Viannay called Rue Royale, and a Greek restaurant called Ena.
There will be a range of entertainment and music from 4pm through until 9pm, when Iglesias will take the stage, and then 10.30pm will see a huge fireworks show, before an after-party at various bars and clubs around The Pointe from 11pm until 3am.
