IFSO World Congress

The International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity and Metabolic Disorders (IFSO) brings experts in metabolic and bariatric surgery together to educate, discuss and collaborate to develop scientific solutions to the obesity pandemic. The 2018 World IFSO Congress will be held from Sep 26 - 29, 2018 at Dubai World Trade Centre.

IFSO is a federation composed of national associations of bariatric surgeons and integrated healthcare professionals, and currently has 62 member societies. The aim of the IFSO World Congress 2018 is to educate but just as well to unite across country borders health care professionals from different specialism’s, in their fight against the adiposity epidemic.

IFSO 2018 will offer 10 postgraduate courses, multiple symposia, and numerous video, oral and poster presentations. The program this year will focus on debates that address specific areas of concern, such as sleeve gastrectomy, reflux disease and long-term outcomes after surgical procedures. In addition, there will be sessions on emerging technologies, date registries, and new procedures for patients with a body mass index (BMI) of more than 50 or patients with super obesity.
