Fusing amazing vocal and physical abilities with a mix of theater, slapstick and stand-up, The Umbilical Brothers are a must-see comedy duo that create a world where all their rules are broken.
The duo will be at the Madinat Theatre, Souk Madinat Jumeirah Dubai for a one-time show in the city on Tuesday 30th October, 2018.
Performing for the first time in UAE, the Aussie comedy duo David Collins and Shane Dundas has been on the comedy scene since 1988, and their unique style of mixing vocal with physical comedy is recognized globally, ranked as two of Entertainment Weekly’s “100 Most Creative People In Entertainment.” They’ve also appeared on The Late Show with Letterman, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and The Late Late Show with Stephen Colbert. They performed after James Brown at Woodstock ’99, and before The Queen of England.
What’s better than performing in front of a home crowd with thousands cheering? One of the biggest highlights of their stand-up career was when they gigged at Sydney Opera House with the late comedy icon, Robbin Williams.
The boys have gigged in 37 countries, including a year-long off-Broadway run where they received a New York Drama Desk nomination. In Australia they were awarded the Helpmann Award (Australia’s Tony) for “Comedy Performance of the Year.” Their headlining Edinburgh Fringe Shows grabbed them the Edinburgh Critics’ Choice Award. Younger fans, parents of younger fans and stoners may know them from their brilliant TV series The Upside Down Show, which they created with Sesame Workshop and won them an Emmy and a Logie (Australian Emmy).
And now they’re heading to Dubai for the very first time, just for your amusement and amazement. Experience them live and wonder how anyone can do this for a living.
Here’s the breakdown. Three seating options are available, starting with platinum seating for Dhs249, gold seating for Dhs199 and silver seating for Dhs189. The show is on Tuesday, 30th October from 8 pm at the Madinat Theatre, Souk Madinat Jumeirah.
