Crowne Plaza Dubai is excited to announce the return of the rib-tickling Laughter Factory to Zinc on Thursday 21st June, 2018.
Zinc will be welcoming some of the world’s finest stand-up comics who will be flying into the Middle East from across the globe, with one combined mission – to make you laugh. Laughter Factory’s June line-up of international comedians are 2015 Funny Women awards winner Desiree Burch taking to the stage. With new pop-up locations added to the mix, audiences will also enjoy side-splitting humour from the talented Joe Bor, known for his observational comedy, and 2016 runner-up at The English Comedian of the Year, Nick Page.
Headlining this Summer of Laughter tour includes fresh to the region ‘8 Out of 10 Cats’ favourite Desiree Burch. After winning the 2015 funny woman awards there has been no stopping the New York powerhouse from conquering the UK comedy scene. She has been seen on ‘Have I Got News For You’ (BBC), ‘Live at the Apollo’ (BBC), ‘Frankie Boyle’s American Autopsy’ (BBC), ‘8 Out of 10 Cats’ (Channel 4) and ‘Before the Morning After’ (NBC/SeeSo). She’s been heard on ‘The News Quiz’ (BBCR4) and as the voice of Pamela Winchell on #1 international hit podcast ‘Welcome to Night Vale’, as well as other podcasts such as ‘The Guilty Feminist’, ‘Made of Human’, ‘Dumb White Guy’, ‘Friends Like Us’ and ‘Writing Excuses’. Her past two solo Edinburgh Shows ‘This is Evolution’ and ‘Unf*ckable’ have been sell out hits at the Fringe, with extra shows by popular demand and both transferred to London’s Soho Theatre.
Giving her a good run for her money will be Joe Bor, who has provided plenty of laughs as the warm up act for the Graham Norton show on numerous occasions and has regular slots on Mock the Week. He has won many awards for his comedy including Jewish Comedian of the Year, Old Comedian of the Year, and he was a finalist for English Comedian of the Year. Joe is a regular performer at the country’s top comedy clubs including Jongleurs, The Comedy Store, The Glee Club and The 99 Club. He has performed at a wide variety of corporate events for big brands including Mind, The Groucho Club, Ben Sherman, Wella and Proctor and Gamble.
Desiree and Joe will be joined by winner of the ‘English Comedian of the Year’ Nick Page, who has travelled the world over with sold-out performances and critical acclaim. He is a seemingly indestructible, larger than life, whose life is a series of disasters somehow turning into unlikely triumphs. No gimmicks, no dead Dad, no props and no flipcharts. Just stories and belly laughs with a master of his art.
Dubai’s true home of stand-up comedy, Zinc has previously welcomed many A-list comedians such as Michael McIntyre, Sarah Millican, Mickey Flanagan and Jack Whitehall to name a few. This month’s line up is going to be more fun than a six-year-old’s birthday party with a case of Redbull and a box of Snickers.
Join the laughs on Thursday 21st June, 8pm at Zinc Night Club, Crowne Plaza Dubai. Dhs150 per ticket including VAT. To book and for more information visit www.thelaughterfactory.com.
