Free creative workshops at D3 this summer

Calling all wannabe photographers and budding artists, Dubai Design District is now offering you the chance to learn the ins and outs of a diverse list of skills.

Dubai Design District is holding complimentary creative workshops on a weekly basis kids and adults as well, to touch up on their brush strokes or to learn a completely new art techniques.
Taking place in Building 5, each session teaches a unique area of art, headed by different art organisations, including Tashkeel, The Jamjar, Reem Al Awadhi and Jaffat Al Aqlam.

Tashkeel kicked off two exciting workshops for kids in July, one which enables participants to create imaginative creatures using wire, feathers and fabric. This workshop by Tashkeel will be taking place from 10.30am until 12.30pm. Another workshop in which participants will be given time to explore d3 with their phones and/or cameras and document the places and spaces they encounter from 2pm to 4pm. Students of all ages can look forward to the Movement in Photography session, posing the question: “how can we create a deeper sense of the vibrancy of a place through motion?”

Adults (16 and above) workshops include watercolour for beginners with Reem Alawadhi and an introduction to calligraphy with Ibraheem Khamayse. Other exciting sessions include drawing from memory versus observation with Natalia Lasso and Jaffat Al Aqlam's 'Altered Realities' which demonstrates artistic repurposing of photographs

The district’s retailers and eateries will be open during the weekends too, so attendees get a bite to eat at venues such as in the fancy French restaurant Chez Charles, trendy Akiba Dori or the arty Molecule once class is over. It’s like high school all over again.
