Dubai launches 'stamp' to recognise hotels with highest sustainability standards.

The Department of Economy and Tourism, Dubai, has recently declared about the introduction of the Dubai Sustainable Tourism Stamp. It would identify hotels that stick to the premier standards in terms of sustainability.
This effort was launched in a row with the UAE Year of Sustainability, is part of the commitment of DET to enhance the position of Dubai as the most important destination in sustainable tourism, as per Emirates News Agency report.
The certification will authenticate the commitment of the hotel toward sustainability.
The new stamp is designed to accelerate efforts towards empowering the tourism sector to achieve its sustainability goals and support the UAE’s NetZero 2050 initiative. It will serve as a validation of the hotel's dedication to sustainability and showcase its sustainable practices.
The stamp will have a three-tier format with gold, silver and bronze categories. The nominations for hotels will start from Aug. 3 rd and continue till 31 st.
Yousuf Lootah, Acting CEO of Corporate Strategy and Performance sector, Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism stated: “ We have carefully curated a set of high standard criteria that will reward hotels that go above and beyond in their sustainable practices. By recognising these exemplary establishments, we are encouraging others to follow suit and embrace sustainable initiatives that not only benefit their businesses but also contribute to the collective well-being of our city and the world at large."
