Al Wasl Hospital - Latifa Hospital

In April 2012 it was renamed Latifa Hospital in memory of Sheikha Latifa Bint Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Often viewed as the mother and child hospital, Al Wasl Hospital is the latest medical facility from DHA. It is also equipped to serve as a teaching hospital and as a referral hospital, offering state-of-the-art medical care at its Special Baby Care Unit, Thalasemia centre, and the Pediatric Surgery Unit.

Latifa Hospital is one of the five government hospitals under Dubai Health Authority. It was inaugurated in 1986 to be the first specialized hospital for maternity and pediatric services in UAE. It is located in the emirate of Dubai and serves the population of Dubai as well as the Northern Emirates. The hospital serves as a secondary and tertiary healthcare facility for specialized pediatric, pediatric surgery, neonatal surgery, genetic and metabolic cases for pediatrics and high risk obstetrics, gynecology, urogynecology and minimal access surgery for Dubai Community and the Northern Emirates of the UAE.

The hospital has a well-equipped Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and expert team of healthcare professionals who provide international levels of neonatal and maternal care. Latifa Hospital services as a referral hospital due to its highly sophisticated and well equipped Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Fetomaternal services and the Pediatric Surgery.

It is the first government hospital in Dubai to be accredited by Joint Commission International; it has 343 beds which are distributed across the following services: Genecology, Obstetrics, Paediatrics, Paediatric Surgery and Neonatology. The total number of healthcare providers and ancillary employees running the hospital is approximately 1300. Its mission is to provide customer focused and high quality health services to women and children in a professional environment, serving all UAE nationals, Dubai residents and referrals. The vision of the hospital is to be the leading model of excellence in specialized healthcare for women and children. Latifa Hospital is certified as ‘Baby Friendly Hospital’ and ‘Mother Friendly Hospital’ by WHO – UNICEF. Our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit was awarded with the Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for an outstanding clinical department in the public sector in the UAE in 2012. Latifa Hospital has also been recently Accredited by American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists (AAGL) and recognized as Centre of Excellence for Minimally Invasive Gynecology Surgery.

Daily from: 16:00 to 19:00. Friday & holidays: 09:00 to 12:00 and 16:00 to 19:00.
There are special days for children to visit their relatives from Monday, Thursday and Friday from 16:00 to 18:00.
