Hijri New Year holiday announced for UAE private sector

The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation has announced that 13th September would be a holiday for the private sector in UAE for The Hijri New Year.

Work would resume on 16th September (Sunday) after three-day weekend. If Saturday is a working day as per your contract, then Friday and Thursday would be off.

The Islamic New Year, also known as Hijri New Year, is the day that marks the beginning of new Islamic or Hijri Calendar. The first day of the year is observed on the first day of Muharram, the first month in the Islamic Calendar.
