Baniyas Investment and Development Company (BID), the investment arm of Bani Yas Sports Club has announced that the first phase of construction of the Dh3bn world-class, mixed-use development under construction, Bawabat Al Sharq, in Bani Yas City is progressing as scheduled.
BID has announced that the sub-structure for residential units is nearing completion. The construction of Bawabat Al Sharq destination mall, due for a grand opening in December 2010 is also making good progress with sub-structure almost complete.
The Chief Executive Officer of BID, Wael Tawil, agreed that there has been tremendous progress on the project, which implies the commitment by the company and the all-round meticulous care being given to this project.
Phase I of the luxurious community project will be completed during the third quarter in 2010, which includes a total of 164 well-designed apartments, 56 luxury villas, comprising several villa types with several detached villas to meet the needs of various buyers.
The destination mall in the Phase one of the project covers 70,000 square metres and features 339 high-profile retail outlets of electronics, fashion wear, accessory outlets, neighbourhood services, jewelers, Carrefour hypermarket. The mall will be spread across two floors and will include 2245 parking spaces, 22 food outlets inclusive of cafes and restaurants.
The overall construction of the project will be monitored by well-established contractors. An Arabtec Holdings-owned Company named Target Engineering Construction Company is responsible for construction of Phase 1 of the project. Posted on 1/11/2009
