The Yas Island Project by Aldar Property in Abu Dhabi, which houses the Ferrari World Abu Dhabi Theme Park and other Warner Brothers attraction and five-star residences and hotels, will surely be a contribution to the Abu Dhabi economy, the company mentioned in its statement.
Abu Dhabi has been promoted to international audience, and it has been recording growth in the number of visitors each year, with the Abu Dhabi International Airport recording 6.9million passengers last year. As for 2008, it has been estimated that the Airport will witness a traffic movement of 7.6million.
The CEO of Aldar Properties, Ronald Barrot, says "Abu Dhabi has the unique advantage of being centrally located connected the eastern and western worlds. Being an international player in the property development industry, Aldar ensures that all of its developments meet international standards, and are setting the benchmark for quality in the industry, which indicates the maturity of regional construction and realty sector of Abu Dhabi."
The multi-use leisure and entertainment destination, Yas Island, is expected to further boost the numbers of visitors with its theme parks and entertainment facilities.
The island, apart from being home to the world’s first Ferrari theme park and Warner Bros theme park, will also house a Formula One racetrack, which will host the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in 2009. Other attractions of the island include Water Park, the first Links golf course in the UAE, and a retail mall covering 250,000 square meters of space. With other waterfront beaches, hotels and features, spas and commercial offices, Yas Island will turn out to be a major leisure destination.
The Yas Island will be ready by the year 2014.
