UAE Cabinet announces nine days Eid Holidays for public sector

The Eid Al Fitr holiday for Ministries and Federal Entities will start from 3rd July (28 of Ramadan 1437 Hijri year) with work resuming on Sunday, the 10th July 2016. So essentially, the public sector employees will have nine days holidays from 1st July to 9th July, which includes two weekends. The announcement is as per the directives of HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of UAE.

The UAE Cabinet chaired by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai have approved the Eid Al Fitr holiday for Ministries and Federal entities.

The Cabineet meeting was held at the Presidential Palace yesterday, in the presence of Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, together with Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs.

The Cabinet has approved an adjustment to the working days of the administrative and educational bodies for the year 2015-2016, adopted by Resolution No. (57/2-20), for the year 2015, on the Academic Calendar for the next three years, marking the end of the year 2015-16 for administrative and educational bodies of public and private educational institutions under the Ministry of Education, and accordingly the last working day for this year will be 30th June 2016.
