Dubai Mall

The Dubai Mall is the world's largest shopping malls in terms of total area, and is the sixth largest in terms of gross leasable area. It forms a part of the Burj Khalifa complex, and offers about 1200 shops.

Dubai Mall is located in close proximity to the world’s tallest tower, Burj Khalifa. When driving in from Dubai, take the 1st interchange and proceed through the Financial Center Road (also known as Doha Street), you get to see the approach road to The Dubai Mall on the right hand side. There are more than 14,000 undercover parking spaces available, with valet services and a car locater ticketing system.

The Dubai Mall is more like a ‘mall-within-a-mall’, with a total of 1200 stores featuring wonderful attractions including the Gold Souk, the Fashion Catwalk atrium, Fashion Island (Avenue), Galleries Lafayette department store, Oasis Fountain Waterfall, WaterFront Atrium, region’s first SEGA indoor theme park, a 22-screen Cineplex which is the largest in Dubai, the indoor-outdoor streetscape with fully retractable roof called “The Grove”, gold and jewelry outlets, supermarket, organic food mart, and Hamley’s – the British toy store.

The Dubai Mall also houses a luxury hotel, 120 restaurants and cafes, and 22 cinema screens.

The Dubai Fountain

Designed by California-based WET, who created the Fountains of Bellagio at Las Vegas, the world’s largest dancing fountain, the Dubai Fountain is located on the 30 acre Burj Khalifa Lake. The fountain shoots water jets 500ft. high, matching that of a 50-storey building. The 900ft. tall fountain goes five circles of various sizes and two central arcs.

The fountain performs daily, and its performance repertoire includes Sama Dubai, Baba Yetu – the award winning song in Swahili, Shik Shak Shok – the top-selling dance number of Arab World, and Con te partiro, the signature piece of world-renowned Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli.

Visitors get to see the most advanced incandescent large fountain lights with 25 colour projects that create a wonderful visual spectrum with more than 1000 abstract attractions. The beaming lights of the Dubai Fountain, catches the eye from more than 20miles away.

The shows are repeated every 30 minutes from 6pm to 10pm on weekdays and from 6pm to 11pm on weekends.

Kidzania

Kidzania is literally, a city made by the children and operated by them. It is a place where children can live out their dreams, and play games. Entry is free for infants below 2 years, but the fee varies for toddlers, children and adults. But, once people enter Kidzania, they can spend as much time as they like, as this is a one-prize entry ticket.

At the Top

Dubai Mall forms the gateway to the observatory deck, ‘At the Top’ located at the 124th level of the iconic Burj Khalifa, wherein the visitors get to experience the exotic Arabian heritage of Dubai. This way, visitors get to step out into the world’s highest public outdoor observation terrace, facing the Sheikh Zayed Road skyline, and its surrounding panorama. Immediate entry tickets are available on daily basis. It is better to purchase tickets in advance, to avoid the long queue during weekends. It is open 10am to 10pm Sunday to Wednesday and 10am to midnight Thursday to Sunday.

Dubai Aquarium

The Dubai Aquarium is one of the largest tanks in the world, with a size of 51m x 20m x 11m, and offers world’s largest viewing panel. The Aquarium has more than 33,000 live animals that represent more than 85 species, with over 400 sharks and rays. The acrylic walk-through of the Aquarium offers a close-encounter with some interesting underwater animals on the planet. There is a special ‘lunar-cyclic’ lighting system being installed that can change the ambience of the tank, depending on the time of the day.

Underwater Zoo

The underwater zoo offers great aquatic experience, whether it is walking along the Rainforest, Living Ocean environments or the Rocky Shore, visitors may find themselves face to face with Giant Catfish, Piranha, Otters, Penguin Colony and more.

Sega Republic

It offers entertainment for all age groups at the first SEGA Republic Indoor Theme park in the region. There are loads of amusement games filled with adventure, scattered over two levels, that could be enjoyed by one and all.

Reel Cinemas Cineplex

Located on Level 2 of The Dubai Mall, the Reel Cinemas Movie Megaplex is one of the largest movie theatre complexes in the UAE, with all 22 cinema theaters opened. It is also the first to have a dedicated cinema for Charlie Chaplin or Orson Welles fans.

Dubai Ice Rink

The Dubai Ice Rink is more like a magical winter wonderland, with its Olympic-size proportions. It could be the perfect place to learn skating, master your technique, play ice hockey, or just network with friends and have a nice time, during any time of the year.

The Dubai Mall has also won several awards including the Retail Future Project Awards at MAPIC Cannes, Best Retail Development Scheme award, Best Use of Lighting in Retail environment, and the brochure of Dubai Mall won three awards at the Summit Creative Awards 2005.
