UAE Employers must pay accommodation allowances


Employers in the UAE are required to pay accommodation allowances, if the employee is not provided with housing. Else, no work permit for the expatriate worker is likely to be issued by Ministry of Labour, henceforth, the ministry officials announced this week.

Clarifying the condition on Monday, the Disputes Committee approved the work permit of a driver, following verification regarding work accommodation provided by his employers, apart from monthly salary.
