As stated by officials in the Ministry of Labour, the workers on Mission Visas do not require No Objection Certificates (NOCs) from their sponsors for change of jobs.
The Assistant Under-Secretary at the MoL, said that workers on such visas could switch jobs on completing the three to six month period.
Al Zahmi said that in case of Mission Visa workers, an employer has no right to demand a labour-ban, if they wish to join other companies. These are more like limited labour contracts.
Recently, MoL undertook a decision to issue Mission Visas to people, who wish to come to UAE in search of jobs. This initiative has been made to keep tab on illegal workers, while also protecting the rights of workers.
In the meanwhile, the Director of Work Permit Department at the MoL, Khalil Khoury, said that many companies have already applied for Mission Visas. The formalities for the issuance of Mission Visas are easy, and they allow sponsors to employ new workers under period of probation.
