Ministry adopts new measure to penalize firms employing illegal workers

A senior official in Labour Ministry has announced that the names of companies who employ illegal workers would be listed on the website of Ministry of Labour. This was announced, after the Ministry caught more than fifty violating companies this week during inspections.

The Assistant Undersecretary at the Ministry, Humaid Bin Deemas, said it is important to name and shame the violating companies, and keep the public informed about the companies that exploit workers.

Bin Deemas added "A person who works for a company illegally is a weak person, who cannot protect himself, and vulnerable to exploitation. He has no documents to prove his rights."

Bin Deemas is trying to prevent such exploitation through inspections.
