NASDAQ Dubai, also formerly known as the Dubai International Financial Exchange (DIFX) is a stock exchange opened on 26th September 2005 in Dubai, UAE. Located in the Dubai International Financial Center (DIFC), a financial free zone, NASDAQ Dubai aims to be the leading stock exchange between Western Europe and East Asia.
The financial activities in the DIFC are governed as per international standards by an independent regulator, the Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA). The NASDAQ Dubai is licensed by the DFSA to operate an exchange.
The Dubai Financial Market (DFM) is a stock exchange founded on 26th March 2000 in Dubai, UAE. The DFM is one of the three stock exchanges in the UAE, apart from the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) and the DIFX. The DFM is the largest financial trading exchange by turnover in the UAE.
NASDAQ Dubai has outsourced its major market operation functions for equities to Dubai Financial Market (DFM), effective 11th July 2010. It is a landmark exchange consolidation in the GCC, and hoped to improve access for individual investors of DFM to NASDAQ Dubai.
