Sheikh Khalifa Medical City Hospitals

The Sheikh Khalifa Medical City (SKMC) offers a network of comprehensive health care facilities and services for the Island of Abu Dhabi. The overall strategy of the Sheikh Khalifa Medical City is to improve the current status of health care delivery by expanding its services and technology, upgrading and improving the physical condition of its existing facilities, combining its health care resources for a more efficient model of health care delivery, increasing its current bed capacity to accommodate the needs of its patients, and create a system for health care professionals to work as one team within the Sheikh Khalifa Medical City and under the guidance of the Health Authority - Abu Dhabi. The Sheikh Khalifa Medical City employs approximately 4000 staff from different nationalities.

The SKMC Pavilions have been classified as:

  • Sheikh Khalifa Surgical Pavilion
  • Sheikh Khalifa Medical Pavilion
  • Behavioral Sciences Pavilion
  • Primary Health Clinics

The Departments included under the Sheikh Khalifa Surgical Pavilion are: Anesthesiology, Bio-Medical Engineering, Cardio-Respiratory services, clinical dietetics, communications, CSSD, Environmental Health, Facilities Management, Finance, Housekeeping, Human Resources, Infection Control, Information Technology, Intensive Care Unit, Internal Audit Services, Laboratory Medicine, Materials Management, Medical Records, Patient Affairs, Nursing Services, Outpatient clinics, Patient Affairs, Pediatrics, Radiology, Rehabilitation, Purchasing, Security and Surgery.

Other facilities offered and managed by SKMC are the Abu Dhabi Dental Center, Central Blood Bank, Preventive Medicine and School Health.
