American Hospital Dubai
The American Hospital Dubai is a 143 bed acute care, general medical/surgical hospital, whose main aim is to offer high quality American standard healthcare that meets the requirements and even surpasses the expectations of people of Dubai, UAE and remaining Gulf States.
The American Hospital Dubai, is therefore designed, planned, built and equipped to meet American standards of healthcare. All physicians here are North American Board Certified or of hold equivalent Western training programs, such as those at Canada, United States and United Kingdom.
The Hospital is the first in the Middle East to be accredited by the Joint Commission International Accreditation (JCIA), which emphasizes the continued commitment by the hospital to the best quality American Standard of Healthcare in the region. This year, the hospital has been re-accredited for the fourth time.
The Medical Laboratory of the hospital is also accredited and re-accredited by the College of American Pathologists (CAP), and is the first private laboratory in the Middle East to be accredited by CAP.
The new Heart Center at the hospital was unveiled in May 2005, and is operated by an all American Trained and Board Certified physician team that has performed several cardiac interventions and surgical procedures, including high risk cases, and very critical patients both in the ICU and Outpatient situations.

The state-of-the-art Radiology Department has created the most modern radiology service in the Middle East, with equipment which is faster and capable of conducting a wide range of examinations with higher degree of detail.
The Total Joints Replacement Center of American Hospital Dubai is the first-of-its-kind in the Middle East. Similar centers are opened in Spain, Britain and Holland. The hospital has record number of about 2000 joint replacements being performed so far, the largest number in any private hospital in the Middle East.
The Heart Center at the American Hospital Dubai, is the new regional center of excellence for cardiac care, offering American standards of care to patients in the UAE and in the region.
The Heart Center treats all types of cardiac conditions, performing advanced interventional and surgical procedures, with the assurance that American Hospital Dubai operates to high standards required by Joint Commission International from the U.S., which has accredited the hospital.
The Heart Center comprises two areas cardiac surgery and interventional cardiology. The center is capable of undertaking advanced interventional offerings such as invasive and non-invasive cardiology, angiogram and angioplasty, cardiac and carotid peripheral ultrasonography, nuclear cardiology, apart from complex procedures such as minimally invasive cardiac surgery, beating heart total arterial bypass surgery, mini valve replacement and valve repair.
The Heart Center is committed to introduce new, advanced techniques such as robotic and endoscopic procedures, as they become available.
The center has dedicated amenities such as cardiac catheterization laboratory, new 10 bed Cardiac Intensive Care unit operated by all American Board Certified Physicians, cardiac nursing staff and Western trained Perfusionist, and new renovated surgical operating room, supported by an advanced 64 multi-slice CT scanner.
The Cancer Care Center at the American Hospital Dubai is a new, dedicated facility offering a range of Medical Oncology and Hematology services for all forms of cancers and blood disorders.
Apart from traditional cancer treatment options such as Chemotherapy, Surgery and Palliative Care, the new Cancer Center will offer new therapies, and Targeted Therapy, a new approach to cancer management, which uses drugs to block the spread of cancer cells.
The center is a full-time, dedicated oncology team, offering palliative care, which is the care of the patient’s body, mind and spirit, through a broad multi-disciplinary approach.
The hospital continues to expand its services in primary and secondary care, apart from selective tertiary services, such as Joint Replacement, Cardiac Care, Cancer Care and Diabetes.
