American Hospital Dubai
The American Hospital Dubai is a 187-bed, acute care, general medical/surgical private hospital with more than 88 physician multi-specialty group practice, designed to provide a high quality, American standard of healthcare to meet the needs and exceed the expectations of the people of Dubai, the UAE and the surrounding Gulf States.
The American Hospital Dubai became the first hospital in the Middle East to be awarded JCI accreditation in May 2000 and successfully underwent further surveys by the JCI in 2003, 2006, 2009 and 2012 to maintain its accredited status. The Laboratory of the American Hospital Dubai earned its sixth consecutive accreditation by the Accreditation Committee of the College of American Pathologists (CAP), in 2011.
The American Hospital Dubai has continued to expand to meet the demand for more personalized services, comfort and convenience, while broadening the services and deepening the level of expertise and care offered. In response to the strong increase in local and regional demand for its services, the hospital constructed a new state of the art Outpatient Clinic Building.
In addition to the new facilities and services, the hospital continues its ongoing physician recruitment plan, which will extend the number of American Board Certified or equivalent practicing physicians at the Hospital to over 100.

The state-of-the-art Radiology Department has created the most modern radiology service in the Middle East, with equipment which is faster and capable of conducting a wide range of examinations with higher degree of detail.
The Total Joints Replacement Center of American Hospital Dubai is the first-of-its-kind in the Middle East. Similar centers are opened in Spain, Britain and Holland. The hospital has record number of about 2000 joint replacements being performed so far, the largest number in any private hospital in the Middle East.
The Heart Center at the American Hospital Dubai, is the new regional center of excellence for cardiac care, offering American standards of care to patients in the UAE and in the region.
The Heart Center treats all types of cardiac conditions, performing advanced interventional and surgical procedures, with the assurance that American Hospital Dubai operates to high standards required by Joint Commission International from the U.S., which has accredited the hospital.
The Heart Center comprises two areas cardiac surgery and interventional cardiology. The center is capable of undertaking advanced interventional offerings such as invasive and non-invasive cardiology, angiogram and angioplasty, cardiac and carotid peripheral ultrasonography, nuclear cardiology, apart from complex procedures such as minimally invasive cardiac surgery, beating heart total arterial bypass surgery, mini valve replacement and valve repair.
The Heart Center is committed to introduce new, advanced techniques such as robotic and endoscopic procedures, as they become available.
The center has dedicated amenities such as cardiac catheterization laboratory, new 10 bed Cardiac Intensive Care unit operated by all American Board Certified Physicians, cardiac nursing staff and Western trained Perfusionist, and new renovated surgical operating room, supported by an advanced 64 multi-slice CT scanner.
The Cancer Care Center at the American Hospital Dubai is a new, dedicated facility offering a range of Medical Oncology and Hematology services for all forms of cancers and blood disorders.
Apart from traditional cancer treatment options such as Chemotherapy, Surgery and Palliative Care, the new Cancer Center will offer new therapies, and Targeted Therapy, a new approach to cancer management, which uses drugs to block the spread of cancer cells.
The center is a full-time, dedicated oncology team, offering palliative care, which is the care of the patient’s body, mind and spirit, through a broad multi-disciplinary approach.
The hospital continues to expand its services in primary and secondary care, apart from selective tertiary services, such as Joint Replacement, Cardiac Care, Cancer Care and Diabetes.
The Center’s mission is to offer people with diabetes and their families, specialist medical care and supervision, information and education, support and empowerment, to permit full, active and healthy life with knowledge to enable efficient self-management and control of the disease.
The hospital's new bed tower is currently rolling out new facilities that will create an additional 212 beds in private rooms and suites, transforming the hospital into a 384-bed campus.
