X Dubai Spartan Race 2016

The XDubai Spartan Race Presented by Etisalat is back in Dubai on February 26th, 2016. The World’s Best Obstacle Race proved a big hit at its 2015 Dubai debut, attracting over 5,000 participants from around the world who came to test their endurance against a range of obstacles including the famous Rolling Mud, Rope Climb, Slip Wall, Spear Throw, Fire Jump, Tire Flip and many more!

With 130 events in 21 countries and six continents, Spartan is the pioneer of modern obstacle races, which have become the fastest growing participant sport in the world. Our mission is to make Obstacle Course Racing a global lifestyle and Olympic Sport.

The Dubai event features two distances - the Spartan Sprint (5 kilometers / 20+ obstacles) and the Spartan Super (13 kilometers / 25+ obstacles), as well the Junior Spartan (for ages 4 to 14) and Special Spartans (for racers with disabilities).

While they do offer competitive elite heats, Spartan Races are for athletes of all levels and abilities and the goal is to rip people away from their couches into the great outdoors and inspire them to lead a fitter, healthier life. Participants can enter individually or as a team and one of the main benefits is working together to overcome the various challenges and help each other excel.

The XDubai Spartan Race Presented by Etisalat is backed by XDubai, whose vision is to make Dubai the adrenaline capital of the world. Created to promote the development of action sports and its athletes, XDubai will also bring global, community focused and, action sport events to the city and create branded content that will excite and inspire sports enthusiasts to join in the fun.
The Spartan team is running free weekly Workout Tours every Friday at Skydive Dubai (Marina/JBR) from 10AM-11AM to help people prepare for the race and be in for a chance of winning a portion of this year’s total US$24,000 prize.

This year’s event partners include Vitaene C and food and beverage company Agthia, the distributor of Al Ain Water, Capri Sun Juice and Yoplait Yogurt, who will provide participants with products on the day of the race and during the Workout Tours.

The XDubai Spartan Race Presented by Etisalat will take place on Friday 26th February at the Jebel Ali Racecourse in Al Barsha, starting with the Elite heat at 7:15AM, with up to 250 racers going off the line every 15 minutes until 1PM. The Junior Race will be held from 10AM – 12PM, which will cover 1 kilometer of obstacles that kids have always dreamed of and will constantly challenge them...breeding the Spartan within from an early age.
