Gitex Shopper 2012

Gitex Shopper is one of the biggest and best consumer electronics retail platforms, offering power retailers and world class brands. The 8-day shopping extravaganza features interactive visitor attractions, customer promotions, competitions, instant rewards on purchases and such other attractive offers.

The event is moving closer this year, and will be held at the Dubai World Trade Centre, which is a rather central location with better connectivity. Gitex Shopper is one of the most anticipated events for technology fanatics, including IT professionals, regional traders, end-users and students.

Variety of products from seven major categories will be made available for visitors under a single roof, during the show. Among the product categories this year are the Gitex Home World, which includes Air Conditioners, cooking ranges, washing machines and such other home accessories; Consumer Electronics category, offering audio/video equipment, home electronics, hi-fi systems, LCD/Plasma and the like; Information Technology, which includes computer equipments, furniture, computer communications, hardware, laptops, monitors, personal computers, etc; Digital Mobility, which displays mobile phones, navigation systems, palmtops, and PDAs; Office Automation category offering equipments such as Conferencing equipment, CCTV, photocopy equipment, printers; Leisure and lifestyle products such as digital receivers, automotive enhancements, cameras and photographic equipment, corporate gifts and requisites; and Games and entertainment section, offering electronic games, gaming consoles, high definition formats, game packages, and more.

The top three products usually purchased at Gitex Shopper are Laptops, mobile phones and cameras.

Among the show highlights this year are the various exciting competitions, launches and features during the event, apart from fabulous prizes. While, Shop & Win, Visit & Win and Mega Draw are few such competitions, more updates will follow closer to the show.

The Gitex Shopper 2011 saw a total visitor number of 169,018, with Dh.193 million worth sales.

Tickets and Timings

The tickets cost Dh.30 per person per entry, while the entry is free for children below 5 years of age. For children below age 14, an adult accompaniment is a must. Students are granted a special rate of Dh.10 per person, per entry (for group visits of minimum 50 students).
