Actor and music producer Idris Elba, who DJs under the name Driis, will return to the UAE to get behind the decks of Gotha Club in Radisson Blu Dubai Waterfront on May 2.

Best known for his critically acclaimed acting roles in the television series Luther and The Wire, British actor Idris Elba has been not-so-secretly moonlighting as a touring DJ for nearly a decade, mesmerizing audiences around the world with his mixing skills. The actor has previously brought his DJ set to Dubai, including a performance at DXBeach festival in 2015. At the time, he was in the city to film and promote Star Trek Beyond. Better known to his music fans as DJ Big Driis, the Thor: Ragnarok star is set to tear up the dance floor at the city’s newest super club, Gotha Dubai for a special live set on Wednesday 2 May.

Elba’s famously eclectic sets mash up genres from dancehall to hip hop, meaning you never know quite what to expect when the Golden Globe winning Hollywood star gets behind the ones and twos.

Located at the Radisson Blu Hotel Dubai Waterfront, the French-exported Gotha has quickly become one of Dubai’s go-to nightspots since launching in March 2018, hosting performances from the likes of Ludacris, Tiësto, Diddy, Conor Maynard, Martin Solveig and more.

Entrance and drinks are free for ladies between 11pm – 1am, while gents will be subject to a Dhs150 cover after midnight that includes one drink.
