Paper Art with Ana Tolvai

If you want to develop your creative skills or looking for a new hobby, look no further than Dubai Community Theatre & Arts Centre (DUCTAC). There are a variety of creative workshops taking place this summer exclusively for adults. The three day 'Paper Art with Ana Tolvai' workshop will explore the world of Matt Shlian and Masahiro Chatani, giving you the opportunity to understand and work the basics of the craft together with the math, geometry and descriptive geometry involved in such artworks.

Dry pastels used on various types of papers give you the possibility to create soft surfaces and blending as well as sharp lines and bold contrasts or delicate details. From abstract drawing to objects and still life or portrait –this workshop makes you familiarize with pastel drawing. The first day students will explore types of papers so they will be able to choose on what to work for the next two days.

This workshop will also give you the opportunity to experiment in a creative way the world of watercolors, under the guidance of Ana Tolvai. The three-day course will lay out the basics and make acquainted you with the contemporary shapes of Matt Shlian and Masahiro Chatani’s origami architecture. Each day you will explore a new way to use the tools and materials.
