Stickymonger "LONESOME PLANET" Dubai exhibition

South Korean born artist Stickymonger’s, one of the most ambitious exhibitions to date is held at Dubai’s Four You Gallery. Titled “LONESOME PLANET,” the sprawling presentation has the artist’s first large-scale sculptures that portray her surrealist female subjects and creatures.

In addition, the artist will display a number of dreamlike paintings — made using water-based spray paint — that explore themes of innocence, anxiety, and human relationships.

Using spray paint as her medium, Stickymonger paints using neutrality, often using a palette of black and white. Her work is autobiographical, which means she only paints what she knows to be true. The paintings offer a depth of tone which will inflict emotion, but won’t be dictated by the artist who chooses to paint at night when time ceases to exist – a mood which is reflected in her paintings.
