The Open Championship is organized annually. Competitions are confined to only free 50m for all ages. Even companies and organizations participate in the event, which is in accordance with the terms of technical committee.
The UAE Swimming Federation (UAESA) organises junior sports festivals and encourage participation in swimming. Events are open to kids under ten years of age too, and to those who have not participated in other UAESA competitions.
The first day of the Championship focuses on sprint relays and the second day features a long race.
The UAE already holds a long history of being involved in Marathon or long distance swimming. UAE Swimming aims to increase the number of children and adults who can swim, improve their health and fitness, offer opportunity for talented swimmers to develop their skills, and to develop and support the UAE national team as they compete in World Championships and Olympics.
