The Dubai Mall festive line-up for Eid and National Day celebrations
The Dubai Mall has a festive line-up of events to celebrate Eid and 38th UAE National Day this year. The opening hours of the mall has been extended from 10am to mid-night to accommodate the crowd, with food and beverage outlets functioning till 1am everyday from 26th November to 5th December.
Considered to be the busiest retail period of the year, the world’s largest shopping and lifestyle destination, The Dubai Mall, has organized an array of traditional events and week-long family entertainment activities.
The highlight for this year’s festive season at The Dubai Mall includes the Arabic entertainment including the Yaweela Band, a 40 member Emirati dance band performing every night on 27th and 28th November and December 1-2 at the Grand Atrium and Fashion Catwalk. A Qanoon and Oud player will also perform in various locations throughout the mall.
Eid and National Day celebrations will also be celebrated with cultural and visual displays with the Watani Exhibit, showcasing interpretations of the ‘united’ world through photography. The event will be hosted in Star Atrium from 26th November to 5th December.
The Grand Atrium will display a special Photography and Antiques Exhibit by the National Council of Tourism and Antiquities (NTCA), which will depict the evolution of UAE through imagery as tribute to the National Day.
Other cultural activities include traditional tents serving dates and Arabic coffee, falconry shows and henna painting. National Day will be celebrated with colored balloons, UAE flags and badges handed out to mall visitors.
The Chief Executive Officer of Emaar Malls Group, Nasser Rafi, said that the Eid holidays and UAE National Day are one of the high-points in the retail sector of the region. The festive calendar has been so planned that it appeals to all family members and tourists alike and the events are a true celebration of the ethos of Eid and National Day.
The Dubai Mall renders a carnival atmosphere to families, with roaming entertainment, musicians and interactive performers creating a festive vibe for visitors of all age groups, such as interactive living statues, caricaturists drawing fun portraits of mall visitors, Sax Kings – an entertaining four-member saxophone jazz band, Duo Renaissance – duet performance by flutist and pianist, a dedicated story telling area, special Disney Discovery Centre with Disney-themed arts and crafts, dress-up play area and movies.
Apart from the said, the visitors to the mall also get to enjoy the Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo, the Olympic-sized Dubai Ice Rink, SEGA Republic, Reel Cinemas and more than 1000 shopping options.
