Flydubai successfully launches flight to fifth new destination

First low-budget airline of Dubai, Flydubai, has launched flights to a fifth destination, including Aleppo, the second largest city in Syria, to its list of operational destinations.

The FZ223 flight took off from Dubai International Airport at 0800hrs and landed at Aleppo International Airport at 1030hrs local times, after a three-and-a-half hour journey. The return flight FZ224 left 45 minutes later at 1115hrs from Aleppo.

Flydubai already flies to Amman, Beirut, Damascus and Alexandria. Syria is the fifth operational destination by the company, since its launch six weeks ago. Syria is the first country to have two flydubai routes, with Aleppo also catering to passengers in the north and Damascus to those in the south.

The CEO of Flydubai, Ghaith Al Ghaith, who flagged-off the inaugural flight from Dubai International Airport Terminal 2, said that UAE and Syria were long-term friends, and this will be a good opportunity for people in both cities to travel between the countries more frequently.
