Dubai RTA announces new Salik online service

The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) introduced a new online service that has made managing Salik violations a lot easier.

With the new service, the public can gain information about vehicle violations, raise objections to fines, and can track their cases until the complaints get resolved.

According to CEO of RTA Traffic and Roads Agency, Maitha Bin Adai, the Violation Management service aims to ease the process of reviewing offences reported and to track them by users of Salik toll gates.

The users can now raise objections to the offences made in case of any doubts, thus saving time and effort of both system users and RTA employees. The service can track the status of application and procedures can be taken without having to visit RTA offices, Adai said.

The public can log on to www.salik.ae, and select the flash ‘Violation Management’, and follow the simple steps which prompts the user to enter the number and category of the vehicle number plate and detailed results can be received instantly.

RTA has also recently begun displaying the image of the vehicle, so that the owner can verify the offence before the action is taken. For raising any objection, the user will have to complete few details and then they will be issued a reference number, used for tracking the violation.

RTA has also introduced several other online services for Salik users such as opening an account, addition of vehicles into existing account, addition of tags to vehicles, topping up Salik accounts and verification of mobile phone number.
