GCC likely to introduce Common Visa System

GCC Immigration chiefs are likely to soon introduce a single visa application system, which would be applicable to visitors for all six member countries, so that people can tour the whole region, without having to seek visas for each country. The facility will also be extended to expatriates.

The GCC immigration officials are also considering the possibility of issuing double residency permit to foreign residents, so that they can study or open offices in any of the six GCC countries.

Plans are also underway to issue a single entry visa for the region. The immigration chiefs from these countries will meet at Abu Dhabi to follow up on the decision.

A single entry visa for the region will help in boosting tourism and foreign investment in the GCC countries immensely.
