Public granted option to voice views on proposed laws

According to a new directive by H H Sheikh Khalifa, President of the UAE, and H H Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, the Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the public will be given an opportunity to view, comment and help improve proposed laws, before they reach the Federal National Council.

The first issue on which public opinion would be sought from Emirati citizens is the draft law on Marriage Fund. The web portal of the Federal National Council would be used to make public the draft law.

People will be given adequate time to learn the proposal and contribute their opinions, thoughts and suggestions on ways to make the law more effective.

This move is designed to create an "improved" rapport between the citizens and Federal National Council.
