Dubai Government slash business, licensing fee by 20-30 percent

The Dubai Government has announced 20 to 30 percent reduction in business and licensing fee and also plans to freeze government fee on essential services to help the emirates private sector in overcoming the current economic slump. The Government also confirmed that no new fee would be introduced.

This order was issued to the Dubai Government departments by H.H. Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

The Director-General of Department of Finance, Abdul Rahman Saleh, mentioned that this is a clear indication that the government will support the private sector to overcome the current economic situation.

This move by the government will help the private sectors to cut costs and manage business better, he added.

Shaikh Mohammed had earlier approved a fee structure mechanism for government services as suggested by the Finance department. Shaikh Mohammed has now instructed the Finance Department to review the fee, prices and tariffs of government services, so as to reduce the fee exceeding the set limit.
