From now on, residents in Sharjah can pay their utility bills through cash machines of few chosen banks, announced Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority (SEWA) on Sunday.

About 19 banks using eZee Pay Software will allow customers in Sharjah to pay their bills through ATM machines. Customers will be able to make inquiries and pay bills at ATM machines located in several banks, including Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank, Dubai Islamic Bank, Emirates Bank, Citi Bank, RAK Bank, Mashreq Bank, Barclays and Gulf First.

Sewa also plans to permit customers to use eZee Pay to pay insurance deposits and electricity connection fees. Sewa intends to make the service available at co-operative societies, shopping centers and commercial areas.
