Emirates Airline announces hike in airfares for all sectors
The national carrier of UAE, Emirates Airlines, has announced an increase in fares across all sectors effective August 1st, due to mounting fuel prices.
According to Emirates representative, the staggering increase in fuel prices has had an inflationary effect on all operational costs of the airline, leaving it with no alternative, but, to increase fares accordingly.
As per the report from the company, fares will go up by 10 percent for the business class and first class, and by 5 percent for the economy class.
The company has stated that Emirates fares will continue to remain competitive, and we shall the company will strive to protect our customers from any major price hikes, while also delivering a high in-flight product and travel experience.
This is the second hike in fares by the airline in a span of three months, although the Emirates President, Tim Clarke had mentioned to the media that the airline was in a better position than most global airlines to balance the impact of high oil prices.
Fuel prices had accounted for 43 percent of the operational expenditure by the airline this year, which is a steep increase of 30.6 percent compared to last April.
