Emirates connects Dubai to LA, SFO in US with daily non-stop service
Emirates Airline announced a daily non-stop service on the routes Dubai-Los Angeles and Dubai-San Francisco, beginning 1st October 2008 and 20th November 2008 respectively.
The Senior Vice President – Commercial Operations of the Emirates, Nigel Page, said that the San Francisco bay area, is one of the most innovative high-tech business centers in the US, and now this direct route will make it more convenient for the Bay Area companies to do business in Dubai.
The Los Angeles service of the airline will connect travelers to the capital of world's entertainment industry. This is coincidental with the launch of a growing media industry in Dubai. The Los Angeles route seems to be a good access for increasing business connections.
These new services will also offer leisure travelers, access to California, the most popular tourist destinations in the US, he added.
Emirates also own the credit of being the first airline to connect Dubai and the US West Coast with its new Boeing 777-200LR aircraft. Comprising abut 266 seats, the aircraft has a three-class configuration, with 10 tonnes of cargo capacity. This newly designed first-class private suite Boeing 777-200LR, features an extra-large seat which reclines to turn into a fully-flat bed, apart from 23-inch wide LCD screen with most of these offering about 1000 entertainment channels. The suite also includes individual storage, vanity desk, coat closet, and mini bar.
This will be the third and fourth US destinations to be served by Emirates, after Brazil and Canada.
Also in August 2008, Emirates is likely to inaugurate the new Airbus 380 on the popular Dubai-New York route, which will be its first-ever commercial service to the US. Even the Dubai-New York route will operate twice a day on daily basis.
