Dubai to house an Indian entertainment hub
The Dubai Infinity Holdings together with Yash Raj Films, a leading entertainment brand in India has announced a multi-million dollar joint-venture for building an entertainment district in Dubai.
The Yashraj Films Entertainment District will comprise theme park attractions, hotel concepts, a movie palace, and other unique Indian genre entertainment concepts. All the components of the Yashraj Districts will be based on the Yashraj banner.
The Chief Executive of Dubai Infinity Holding, Samira Abdul Razzak, said “This is both encouraging and exciting step for us. Bringing such an honored name into UAE has been a strategic move which attracts the core demographic of the country.
“We are happy to be partnering with the DIH, which helps in making our foothold stronger in the region,” said Yash Chopra.
Yashraj films was named as one of the biggest film distribution houses by Hollywood Reporter, and has few highest revenue grosser in the entertainment industry to its credit.
This is the second project of Dubai Infinity Holdings, after the launch of Isla Moda, the world’s first island dedicated to fashion.
The Indian entertainment brand is behind the success of blockbusters such as Hum Tum, Veer Zara, Bunty Aur Bublin, Chak De India. Cinema statistics reveal that Indian Cinema has an increased general following in the region, as the Bollywood films gross is higher than western films. This partnership is one-of-a-kind in the UAE.
