New Visit Visa rule in UAE mandates payment of Dh1000 by sponsor
The new law for visit visa in the UAE, which will be effective since 1st August, states that residents who sponsor their immediate family members will have to pay Dh1000 as deposit, refundable on exit.
The Director of Visas and Residency Department at the Federal Naturalization and Residency Department (FNRD), Ministry of Interior, Col Darwish Eid Ebaid Al Meheri, said -The sponsors who intend to bring their relatives to the country on a visit visa will have to pay the guarantee of Dh.1000, apart from providing health insurance prior to issuance of the visa.
In addition to this, the sponsor seeking UAE visit visa for his immediate family or first degree relatives should be drawing a monthly salary of Dh.5000, as per the new rule.
As per the UAE by-laws, the amended rule regulates issuance of visit visas and will now oblige the sponsors who wish to bring their relatives to pay.
Expatriate residents can apply for visit visas only for their relatives such as parents, spouses, children, or siblings. Sponsoring for a friend is permitted only for UAE nationals.
