Legoland - first interactive theme park to be launched in Dubai
An interactive theme park, Legoland, dedicated to families with children in the age groups two to twelve years is likely to be opened for the first time in Dubai.
Tatweer, a Dubai Holding member, revealed that it has entered into a strategic alliance with the Merlin Entertainment Group, the second largest entertainment group, to build the Legoland Parks across the Arab world.
Both the groups announced the launch of Legoland Dubailand, the first ever Legoland Park, to be built outside Europe and North America.
The project, worth Dh.912mn, covers three million square feet of space in Dubailand, the largest leisure and entertainment destination in the world.
The Legoland Dubailand is likely to feature more than 40 interactive rides and other attractions and shows, targeted at children aged 2 to 12 years. It will be a major, unique attraction which boosts family tourism.
The Tatweer Executive Chairman, Saeed Al Muntafiq, said “The Partnership demonstrates out dedication to deliver projects in accordance with the tourism objectives of Dubai Strategic Plan 2015, and with this, we intend to multiply our portfolio of entertainment offerings, by contributing to transform Dubai into a leading world-class tourism destination.”
