The Al Sufooh Tram project in Dubai approved

The Dh4billion Al Sufooh Tram Project in Dubai has received the approval of HH Shaikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

The Tram Project, which stretches 14 Kilometers will run along the Al Sufouh Road connecting Burj Al Arab to Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR) and the Jumeirah Lake Towers. It will also link the Madinat Jumeirah and Mall of Emirates with Dubai Marina and JBR, offering easy transport option for its residents.

The project which includes 19 stations will make commuting within the new Dubai developments cheap and easy. The project is all set to serve residential and commercial areas, spreading along the path of Al Sufouh Tram Project.

The contract for the project has been awarded to a group of major international companies. The tram will serve as a complement to the Dubai Metro project, which is nearing completion.

The Chairman of the Board and Executive Director of the Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai, Mattar Al Tayer said that the area has seen high-class development over the past few years.
