Golden Tulip launches its first property in Dubai

The Dutch company, Golden Tulip hospitality group, yesterday officially launched their first property in Al Barsha, Dubai.

The four-star hotel features 125 rooms, including 12 suites. The hotel, which began its operations in July 2007, features four restaurants, and a rooftop swimming pool among several other amenities. The hotel has non-smoking zones on part of its suites and deluxe rooms, and the banquet hall can accommodate up to 100 guests.

The Area Director (Sales and Marketing), Mustafa Chatila, said the group has 33 hotels in the Middle East, which will increase to 60 in number by end of 2010.

According to Mustafa, among the new projects are hotels in Suhar Al Qurum of Oman and five-star hotels in Salalah. Towards end of 2009, a hotel will be launched in Al Ain, apart from two Flamingo hotels in Abu Dhabi and six properties in Dubai, one of which will open in October this year. Two other hotels are planned in Ras Al Khaimah and Sharjah.

The company also plans five new hotels in Jordan towards the year 2010, apart from properties in Kuwait, Qatar, Syria, Lebanon and Saudi Arabia.

The group has 900 hotels throughout the world, apart from 85,000 rooms in more than 50 countries. Golden Tulip operates 264 hotels worldwide, with 60 others under its management.
